Our first Kunzum Book Club Mixer is coming up! And we have an amazing line-up of authors waiting to meet you, our reading community, at Kunzum Jorbagh. Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar winner Tanuj Solanki will talk about his latest book, the noir crime thriller titled Manjhi’s Mayhem, with book editor and blogger Shreya Punj. Solanki has written four works of fiction. His previous novel, The Machine is Learning, was longlisted for the JCB Prize for Literature 2020, and in 2019, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for his short-story collection, Diwali in Muzaffarnagar. His first book, Neon Noon, was shortlisted for the Tata Literature Live! First Book Award.
Poet, diplomat, editor and translator, Abhay K, will then take over the stage to discuss his latest book. He already has a dozen poetry books to his name, including Monsoon. He received the SAARC Literature Award 2013. The Book of Bihari Literature, which Abhay has edited, features translated work from various languages spoken in Bihar such as Bhojpuri, Maithili, Farsi, Urdu, and Hindi.
For those interested in astrology, Garima Garg will hold forth on her book, Heavens and Earth. The new book examines the history of astrology, its many different systems and its development as a modern cultural phenomenon. Deeply researched and expertly narrated, the book contextualises the role of astrology in the ever-evolving human perspective of the cosmos and in understanding our place in it.
The event is open to all, but Kunzum Book Club members will enjoy priority seating.
