Kunzum Book Club is back with another exciting event! Translator Daisy Rockwell will be in conversation with author Tanuj Solanki on the International Booker Prize-winning novel Tomb of Sand. Rockwell has produced numerous English translations of Hindi and Urdu books, including the iconic Tamas by Bhisham Sahni, and novels by Khadija Mastur and Upendranath Ashk. Her translation of Krishna Sobti’s final novel, A Gujarat Here, A Gujarat There, was awarded the Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize in 2019.
Tanuj Solanki has written four books of fiction. In 2019, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for his short-story collection, Diwali in Muzaffarnagar. His debut novel, Neon Noon, was shortlisted for the Tata Literature Live First Book Award, and his third book, The Machine is Learning, was longlisted for the JCB Prize for Literature 2020.
