Books are a joy by themselves. How about adding to the pleasure by going social? With Kunzum’s Read With An Author initiative.
What is the program?
We come together to read. In person. In the company of one or more authors. With digital devices firmly kept away in our bags in silent mode. We will invite different writers and other publishing professionals to join the sessions – to read with members, and to also interact with them. The idea is conceived by Ajay Jain, founder of Kunzum and an author of 16 books (including two with HarperCollins).
Who can participate?
Open to anyone – age, gender, reading interests and occupation no bar.
Where and when do we meet?
We will warm up with the first few meet-ups at Kunzum’s GK2 store in New Delhi – we could then scout around for other locations including gardens, monuments, schools, museums etc. as agreeable to the community in general. There is no set frequency but expect to meet at least once a month. Attendance is not mandatory, but do try to attend as many sessions as you can.
What is the flow of a meet-up?
We will read together for an hour. You can bring any book of your choice. This will be followed by an exchange of stories and recommendations by those in attendance. You can also ask attending authors questions about their work. Over a cup of tea or coffee, with cookies, samosas and other snacks.
Is there a cost to participate?
There is no fee to join. Kunzum will offer a cuppa on the house when the meet is hosted there. Members may be required to pay for their own food and beverages if any locations require so.
