Off to Kenya – With an Eleventh Hour Itinerary | Wildlife

After years of planning and anticipation, I finally left for Kenya. On October 27, 2015 to be precise. But not before uncertainty till almost the last minute.

I was invited by Kenya Tourism to write about the country’s attractions. After an in-principle approval for my trip, it was a little over three months before I finally took off. We exchanged a fair number of mails about my itinerary, but I got the final one only at the eleventh hour – literally. It came in at 11:00 p.m. – just when I was about to sleep off to be up for a flight to Kenya the following morning. I was all set to leave not knowing what I would be doing in Kenya.

Was I worried? No. From what I know, no matter where I would be going, I would be in one of the most beautiful regions of the world. Without ever being there, Kenya has been my dream second home for years. And I was dealing with Grayling, Kenya Tourism’s PR agency – I knew my itinerary was in good hands.

And what a surprise I got – my itinerary beat my own expectations. While I will share what exactly I did and where in the following posts, here is a glimpse of what was planned for me. Stay tuned – there is more to follow.
