Lightcube presents Film Screening at Kunzum Travel Café on Saturday June 2
This Delhi-based group of film-lovers is organizing weekly screenings at Kunzum Travel Café every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. This week, the group will be screening three monumental Charlie Chaplin short films namely:
A Day’s Pleasure / 1919 / 25min
Father takes his family for a drive in their falling-apart Model T Ford, gets in trouble in traffic, and spends the day on an excursion boat. As the boat is about to leave Charlie rushes ashore for cigarettes. As he returns the boat is leaving, but a fat lady has fallen forward with feet on the dock and hands on the deck so Charlie is able rush aboard across her back.
Sunnyside / 1919 / 41min
Charlie works on a farm from 4:00 a.m. to late at night. He gets his food on the run (milking a cow into his coffee, holding an chicken over the frying pan to get fried eggs). He loves the neighbor’s daughter Edna but is disliked by her father. He rides a cow into a stream and is kicked off. Unconscious, he dreams of a nymph dance.
The Idle Class / 1921 / 32min
A tramp sneaks into a upper class golf resort. The tramp meets a rich woman who is having an argument with her drunken husband. Complications arise when she mistakes the tramp for her husband.
Heritage Walk in Hauz Khas and Deer Park
Delhi Heritage Walks brings you another of their signature walks to one of the most fascinating monument complexes in Delhi. Hauz Khas is a reservoir built in early 14th century, which gives the village and the area its name. Ruins of a large madrasa and a royal tomb stand on one edge of the tank. Today Hauz Khas Village is home to designer boutiques and studios.

Nature, Heritage and Photography Walk in Delhi’s Hill Station and Original Village of Delhi – Mehrauli Archaeological Park
Recharge your ‘life-batteries’ in this heat, with a stroll this Sunday morning amongst the verdant greens, natural jungle-like vegetation and listen to tales from the times when the first villages came up here in Delhi to the soft background ‘sounds’ of chirping birds! Shoot pictures of exquisitely decorated mosques, tombs, Baolis (stepwells), residences of a British official of East India Company and the spectacular flora ans fauna.
Good opportunity for amateur photographers, heritage buffs, nature lovers and of all age groups/children. We will end the walk with some sumptuous breakfast in Mehrauli’s old markets.
