This photograph was taken at the Pushkar Camel Fair in Rajasthan where these animals are brought for trading. The number tattooed on the camel may be a good idea to identify it but one question comes to mind: After it is sold by the owner, does this mobile number go as a part of the package?

I dont think its a tattoo.. may be its just written with charcoal or paint . .
hope so.Otherwise they’ll torture the animal while trying to get rid of it.

It was certainly a permanent mark, not easily erasable. It could also be cut into the fur and painted over thus saving the camel the torture. Anyone called the number?
